As the leaves change colour and summer draws to a close, this is when we need to think about changing the colours on our nails. Although summer is when all things are bright and colourful, autumn is when you can really unwind and express yourself. It is all about rocking darker shades such as plums, berrys, greys, nudes and browns, resulting in a much more darker palette to play around with.

Plums and Berrys
A beautiful deep plum colour is the definition of autumn. This is the perfect match for autumn, or any season for that matter. In my opinion, these shades are like rocking a soft pastel pink in summer, which is an essential to the season. These dark and deep purples are like a one size fits all. It goes well with all skin tones and can easily compliment any sort of outfit and makeup look. This is something that I love about these shades as they can easily transition from season to season.
Soft Greys
Grey nail polish is right on trend for autumn. Just like plum and berry shades, they suit any skin tone and are versatile enough to be worn everyday. It is all about minimalism, just like Scandinavian style embraces greyish neutral shades. A dark charcoal shade just like Cashmere Bathrobe, are perfect for the season of autumn as they are not too dark or too light. The perfect in between. Also, it creates a dramatic mood through maintaining elegance.
Neutrals and Browns
The first shade had me at coco. The name is as mesmerising as the colour itself. These colours are the in between of a play it safe because it is close to nude and out of your comfort zone as it opts for a darker shade than the norm. Just like with makeup, you can never go wrong with neutrals. Neutral nail polish shades can be easily mixed and matched with outfits.
Gold Shimmer
Who said that the fun had to end when summer was drawn to a close? Nah uh. You can keep the party going by using a shimmery gold colour to keep it both neutral but adding an element of surprise through the shimmery tone.
