Simple and sophisticated are the two words that I will use to describe the Cushnie et Ochs’ Spring 2016 ready to wear collection that showed at New York Fashion Week.

The minimalistic approach to Spring was a standout for its plain colours and soft, flattering silhouettes. The six colours used encompassed monochromatic black and white with designs all about the shoulders for Spring. Jumpsuits, dresses and bodysuits were designed to sit perfectly on the feminine physique; falling and clinging in all the right places.
The use of pastel, Easter inspired colours is like a springtime dream; the peach, the lemon, the lilac and the sweet baby blue will pop against the newly tanned skin of spring.
Plunging necklines, cutouts and splits embody the collection, making it edgy and sexy; plunging necklines were accompanied by thick, drop chain necklaces. The two white jackets that have come out of the collection make a great addition to any outfit, with their lightweight style to hang off the shoulder on chilly Spring mornings.
Many dresses or jumpsuits had a bow detailing on the back which added a cute accessory inspired spin. The collection was elegant and gorgeous with more and less daring versions of pieces to choose from. And can we just say that one shoulder pieces and black leather are back in a big way, and we couldn’t be happier!
We also loved that the ladylike pieces were sported with vampy lips, dark lined eyes and full brows with sleek and slicked back hair.
We’ve already spotted the red carpet picks for the season, plus a few pieces that we would need for work and play. The collection is super versatile, making it a must have for any wardrobe.
