Concealer is one of those amazing beauty products. It covers our blemishes, it conceals those late night dark circles, and it also highlights our face.

It’s super fabulous, right? But it does have one downside…it tends to crease.

It gets caught in the fine lines of the face, especially under the eyes. This can be a little unattractive, especially when it gathers up and emphasises our fine lines. But there are a few ways to prevent this.

The first thing to do is make sure you set your concealer. Dab a small, fluffy makeup brush into some translucent or pressed powder, and then apply the powder onto the areas you’ve concealed. Make sure you’ve tapped off any excess powder off your brush first. If you apply too much powder it can make creasing worse. You only need a small amount.

Another way to stop concealer from creasing is doing the ‘baking’ method. Keep in mind that this method may not suit you if you have dry skin, as it tends to dry out your skin even more. Take some loose powder and dunk a fluffy brush into the product. Make sure you get a lot of product on there. Dab the powder onto the areas you’ve concealed, making sure that the powder sits heavily on your face. Wait five to 10 minutes and brush the powder off with a clean brush. Doing this sets the concealer in place and makes sure it doesn’t budge all day. It’s great for under the eyes.

Another great way to make sure your concealer doesn’t crease is to not put concealer directly on fine lines, like your under eye area. For me, I have natural creases under my eyes and putting concealer there makes them really noticeable and look even worse. Foundation covers up most of the dark circles, and blending in some concealer around the eye area, avoiding fine lines, is the best way to stop it from creasing – because there is no concealer there anyway!

I hope these tips help you get creaseless concealer!
