Double denim can be dubious but we are loving some celebrities take on the ’80s fashion throwback. Rihanna always makes the style headlines but we reckon she absolutely rocks wearing the trend. Rihanna has a tendency to look good in just about anything so we have a few tips to ease in the not so brave to wearing the look.
Don’t be blue
Wearing double denim needn’t mean wearing blue from head to toe. Experiment with colours. A pair of skinnies in a block colour teams wonderfully with a little washed out denim sleeveless shirt and vest top. If you want to stick to the blue hue, vary the shades.
Denim doesn’t mean jeans
Dungarees, shirts, skirts, even dresses; the denim world is your oyster. In fact steering clear of jeans and opting for another denim item might actually make the look more wearable.
Keep it clean
Keep your look simple; steer clear of embroidery, embellishments and any other questionable stitching. Wearing double denim and wearing it well is a feat in itself. Over complication of the style could result in a fashion faux pas reminiscent of Justin and Britney.
