Cushion Foundation: The New Beauty Must Have

foundation must have

If you thought foundations only came in liquid, powder and cream form then you’ve been left out of the beauty loop! A new type of foundation is taking over and it comes… as a sponge.

Foundation can’t really get any better, right? I mean liquid and cream foundation is great for covering blemishes and scarring while still being glowy. Powder foundation is awesome for fuller coverage days if you’re in a hurry (you can buff it on so quickly!) And to get the best of both worlds you can even combine the two and set your liquid foundation with a powder one.

You’d think that this new sponge-like cushion foundation can’t beat our trusty standard faves, but it might actually be better.

Cushion foundation originated in Korea like so many other beauty products before it (BB creams, CC creams etc.), and has become the latest beauty trend to hit western society. The foundation comes in a compact with a cushion ‘sponge’ that has the foundation soaked through it. The idea is that you bounce your makeup brush into the sponge and then apply it onto your face.

Cushion foundations generally have a decent amount of coverage, but give an airbrushed look. They’re light to medium and can be buildable. Perfect for almost everyone. Because these foundations come in a compact they’re easy to carry around with you and touch-up during the day.

They’ve become so popular recently that not only have high end brands come up with their own version, but so have drugstore brands like L’Oréal.
