MTV’s Rachel Antonoff was first on the red carpet in one of her own designs. Her white mini dress and ‘Hollywood’ wedges were a perfect summery combo for the event. Lucy Hale hit the red carpet in a black crop top and studded midi skirt. Her messy pony tail and gold, strappy heels worked well with her Sachin & Babi outfit.
Charli XCX caused a stir in her black and yellow Moschino, tiger-print, one-shouldered jumpsuit with a clashing Vivienne Westwood clutch. Becky G got the crowd’s attention with her stunning black crop top and studded maxi skirt with a sheer side panel. Her sleek hair and strappy shoes finished the look.Kesha caused the most screams with her glamourous, embellished Johanna Johnson gown and diamond accessories. She kept her trademark rainbow hair in soft waves.
Katie Stevens was very risque in her white, long sleeved lace gown. Wearing white underwear, the gown was completely see through and backless with a front slit and her hair was slicked back. Jessie J’s sheer, green, cross-over draped dress was flowy and summery. Ariana Grande braved the warm weather in a leather Moschino mini dress and thigh high boots. While the outfit was a world away from her white dress at the Teen Choice Awards, her trademark hair was present. Nicki Minaj was unexpectedly covered in a long sleeved, sparkly, leopard print mini dress. She looked fierce with her soft, shoulder length waves and nude heels.
Iggy Azalea looked regal in a sparkling Atelier Versace strapless gown with a sheer front panel. Her long, slicked back hair and diamond choker finished her simply stunning. Jennifer Lopez also sparkled in a gorgeous, revealing gown, showing off her immortal figure. The Charbel Zoe design proved that J.Lo has still got it, and knows how to show a little leg.
Taylor Swift surprised us all in the shortest outfit we’ve ever seen on her. The bright blue, Mary Katrantzou, hot pants playsuit with long sleeves showed off plenty of long, tanned leg and we’re definitely not mad. Miley Cyrus has also surprised us, looking quite the sophisticate in leather, high waisted slouch pants and a black bandeau top. Her accessories were minor and her silver shoes topped off her sensible outfit.
Rita Ora stayed with her hollywood glam look that works oh-so-well for the blonde singer. Wearing a red, slip-gown by Donna Karen Atelier with a thigh high split, underwear was not an option and her matching red lip and slicked back platinum locks were gorgeous. Gwen Stefani made an appearance wearing one of her L.A.M.B designs – a hot pink top and suit pants combo with a black, chain waist belt.
And the best outfit award goes to Katy Perry and Riff Raff for their redo of the matching double denim disaster that was Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake. As a nod to history, these two have captured the spirit of the award season and brought a tear to our eye with their denim Versace.
