WAG Style On The Brownlow Red Carpet

The Brownlow Medal always brings out the best and worst dressed WAGS of AFL stars from around the country. This year’s Brownlow red carpet was filled with a range of designs and colours that stunned audiences, though many ladies chose to stick to the bridal trend.

Queen of the WAG red carpet, Rebecca Judd showed everyone why she is so in her favourite designer J’Aton. The tiered ball gown with subtle cut outs and beaded embellishments was pulled straight from the haute couture runway. Judd herself walked the J’Aton runway in honour of late designer Ruth Tarvydas at Perth’s Fashion Festival last week.

Fashion blogger Nadia Bartel looked stunning in her warrior-inspired, fishtail wedding gown with studded shoulder accents and belted waist. The figure hugging gown was apparently last minute, though Nadia looked nothing but polished with her sleek hair and beautiful makeup. Presenter Rachael Finch showed that less is more in her Paolo Sebastian lace gown with sheer panelling for the ultimate illusion.

Candice Quinlan was glowing with her gorgeous tan and yellow, strapless gown. The dark lips and nails were very Hollywood glam while her up-do gave credit to the dress. Alex Davis also looked oozed Hollywood glam in a navy, figure hugging, off the shoulder, backless gown, while Madeleine Ryan’s strapless gold gown sparkled with her dark locks and accentuated her fabulous figure.

In her Brownlow debut, beauty queen Jesinta Campbell chose a one shoulder, Steven Khahill, lavender gown with a unique neckline, looking glamorous, but not overdone. Her side swept hair, sultry makeup and metallic clutch finished the look well. Also making her red carpet debut was Rebeccah Panozza in a one shoulder, very appropriate, black and white Alex Perry gown. We loved the pale pink nails against Rebeccah’s Fiji tan.

Jordan Papalia chose an unusual bridal gown by Anthony Montesano of SignorMont Couture. With an off the shoulder neckline and sheer skirt, Jordan pulled it off with a pony tail and matching choker to show off the dress. Jessie Habermann also jumped on the sheer skirt trend with her silver embellished gown that also had sheer sleeves.

Serial shocker Gabi Grecko was surprisingly tame in her gothic, Lady Gaga-esque outfit. The fringe and face glitter reminded us of Mother Monster in her ‘Poker Face’ days and while the outfit was outrageous for the Brownlow, we’re used to seeing Dr Edelsten’s significant others in revealing outfits.
