Celebrities were playing it safe on this year’s ASTRA Awards red carpet, with black being the choice for many stars.

Perhaps it was the cooler weather or after math of an awards season full of less than impressive coloured gowns, but our favourite ladies walked the red carpet in a series of sultry black numbers that were definitely winners.
Jennifer Hawkins knew exactly what she was doing in a gorgeous, black leather gown was so sultry and sexy, but that’s really just the norm. With a textured pony tail, that thigh split and those gorgeous lace up heels, Ms Hawkins should’ve been wearing a sash for ‘Belle of the Ball’. Alex Perry also dressed Fashion Police co-host Giuliana Rancic in a black, beaded and lace gown. Her short brunette bob and some finger bling was all the red carpet veteran needed to accessorise the long-sleeved design with, because it really did all the talking.
Danielle McCormack opted for a jet-black, long sleeved gown by Zhivago. Looking almost liquid, the sparkly gown and its train hung perfectly on Danielle’s figure, with the shoulder studs that extended down the arm, a fabulous detail. Kate Peck showed off her svelte frame in a strapless Aurelio Costarella gown, which was again dark, but detailed with a metallic silver pattern for a little light on the red carpet.
Kerrie-Anne Kennerly opted for a rather racy gown in a plunging, blue gown with plenty of bling detailing and sparkly shoes. With a rather high split that would require no underwear, Kerrie-Anne exposed her rather taut tush when she miscalculated the strength of the wind and the swing of her dress. There was no harm done though, she carried on with a smile and we could only think of how fabulous she looks.
Terry Biviano went against the crowd and looked stunning in a white Pallas Couture gown with sheer panelling that she matched perfectly in transparent pumps with a white point. E! Australia host Ksenija Lukich looked stunning in a fitted, halterneck lace gown that sparkled with black sequins. Cheyne Tozzi also rocked a black number, looking sultry in a silky mid-length dress, frayed in the split.
A stand out of the night, for the colour and the style, was Samantha Jade in a pink, backless gown with ruffle detailing, adding some extra curves to her tiny frame.
