Best Dressed On The Brit Awards Red Carpet

It was a stunner of a red carpet at the Brit Awards in London last week, with celebrities killing it upon entrance to the annual event.

If you wanted a run down of the ceremony, here it is: Madonna fell off stage due to her Armani cape being pulled while still attached to her neck and Taylor Swift nailed her performance of ‘Blank Space’, picking off hot, male dancers as she walked down a runway, while creating a storm of glitter. Phew. Can we get onto the important parts?

The red carpet was full of outfits that we didn’t see coming this year. Some of the them good, some bad, but there didn’t seem to be any particular trends for this relatively casual awards ceremony.

Taylor Swift is at the top of everybody’s list, and it’s well deserved. In a Roberto Cavalli Atelier gown, that we never would have picked for Taylor, the singer looks so amazing and different from her typical ensembles. The red dragon down the sheer back was complimented by her red lips and a pair of Charlotte Olympia heels never hurt to add on for style cred.

Rita Ora sparkled in a Zuhair Murad Couture jumpsuit with a plunging neckline. The outfit was sexy and sheer, though the colour was similar to Rita’s cropped white-blonde cut. Fellow Brit Ellie Goulding also donned a sheer outfit, in a white Alberta Feretti gown and effortless waves.

Karlie Kloss showed off her model physique in a predominantly white Tom Ford gown, with shoulder cut outs that showed just the right amount of skin, while another model chose a completely different look. Cara Delevingne was channelling tom boy sex appeal in Saint Laurent suit pants, a loosely buttoned shirt and a fedora.

There was a mini spice girls reunion on the red carpet, with Emma Bunton (Baby Spice) and Mel C (Sporty Spice) looking sophisticated in black. Emma Bunton was also carrying a Victoria Beckham clutch, so let’s say half of the gang made it.

Paloma Faith looked lovely in a black and red Armani Privé strapless gown with tulle overlay, and FKA Twigs looked outstanding in an Alexander McQueen jumpsuit.

Not everything was positive about the red carpet though. We’re not sure what to think of Charli XCX in her sheer, granny-patterned Vivienne Westwood gown with way too much side-boob, except maybe save it for the bedroom, or maybe just for bed.
