We’ve all been guilty of this at some point in our lives. Mostly due to being in a rush to get to school, work or an appointment. Or simply just not being hungry.
You’ve probably heard it before; breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
So why are so many of us still skipping? Or not eating enough? A common misbelief is that the less we eat, the more weight we lose. In fact, when it comes to food, not only is it about what we are eating, it’s when.
If you’re a breakfast skipper, you may find as the day drags on, your body begins to yearn for some power. So you fill up for lunch. Fill up for dinner. And then you’re lying down for a night’s sleep, feeling drained. And the cycle repeats.
You’re better off eating a filling meal in the morning and smaller meals through out the day.
Do something that will help you get into a routine. If you’re a late bird, maybe think about setting your morning alarm 15 minutes earlier. Prepare something the night before or think of something simple to make; a fruit salad, or scrambled eggs on toast.
Making these changes will energise your body, give you more motivation and will help you cut down on those late night munchies!
It takes three weeks to create a habit – so make it your goal to bring breakfast back into your life!
