The fist way is a bit fiddly but very effective – It involves corn-starch.

What you’ll need:

Corn-starch (or baking soda if you have none)

A nail polish of your choice (colours without shimmer work better)

A toothpick

A small plate

Instructions:

  1. The first thing you need to do is pour a small amount (about the size of a 10 cent coin) of the nail polish onto the plate.
  2. Next add a small amount of the corn-starch into the nail polish. Add about half the amount of corn-starch, anymore and you’ll dry out the liquid.
  3. Working quickly, stir them together with the toothpick. Make sure they’re combined well.
  4. On clean nails, pain on the mixture you’ve made. Let it dry, and voila! Matte nail polish.

Boiled water

A bowl

Instructions:

  1. Boil the water in a kettle or on top of the stove. Pour the boiling water into the bowl.
  2. Paint the nail polish onto your nails.
  3. While the polish is still wet, hold your nails over the steam for 20-30 seconds.
  4. Take your nails away and allow them to dry

And that’s it! Two super easy and cheap ways to get your nail polish on fleek.
