The Time 100 Gala is one of the most important events of the year. Not only does it tell you who is relevant this year and who we should be paying attention to, but it’s also a huge red carpet event, separating the strong from the weak in red carpet fashion. When the world’s most influential people come together, you know it’s going to be a good red carpet.

Black and white were the colours of the evening with almost all guests in elegant but rather plain ensembles at this year’s Time 100 Gala red carpet.

Emma Watson, not only one of the best actresses, but also an advocate for female and human rights wore a 3 piece Dior ensemble, rocking a hybrid of a skirt and pants. The outfit has a different look from each angle and it was so daring in such a sophisticated way that we can’t help but yet again applaud her outfit.

Kimye appeared on the red carpet, looking loved up before a hilarious Amy Schumer photo bombed their red carpet time, falling in front of photographers to the floor that Kimye stood on. Looking less than impressed, the pair strode along the carpet, probably thinking that she’s just jealous. Kim looked very tame in a Sophie Theallet gown, that wasn’t her strongest look but was still better than the floral disaster from the MET gala, while Kanye looked the same as always.

Laverne Cox stood out from the dark and neutral looks in a sequinned, sea green Marc Bouwer gown that looked stunning on her. The shape and fit were perfectly complementary and her short wavy hair looked lovely.

Karlie Kloss was elegant in Alexander Wang. The model accessorized her gown with gold bracelets and a slick of lippy. Besides the colour pop, Karlie’s makeup looked quite natural and glowing.

Naomi Campbell looked stunning in white shoes with a white, half-and-half, textured Jean Paul Gaultier dress, accessories with diamond bracelets and a half and half fur jacket. If she wasn’t so fabulous, it would be a little Cruella De Vil.

Julianne Moore’s sparkly one shouldered Givenchy dress was a little too similar to a sequinned garbage bag for our liking. The baggy silhouette engulfed her frame and the shoes were a little tacky for the occasion.
