Think Pink For Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Support Breast Cancer Awareness Month

The month of October is International Breast Cancer Awareness month with fundraising and events held all over the world to help focus on breast cancer and those who suffer from it. Stories are shared from friends, family and survivors and many people come together to support this great cause.

This month, you can host a Pink Ribbon event and gather your friends and family to spend time together and donate to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. We encourage all members of the community to make a donation and/or hold and event in the name of breast cancer awareness. One in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime and breast cancer also affects a small amount of men, so bringing breast cancer awareness to your family and friends is beneficial to everyone.

Changes to look for include:

  • A new lump or lumpiness, especially if it’s only in one breast
  • A change in shape or size of the breast
  • Changes to the nipple including inversion, crusting, ulcer, redness or a discharge that occurs without squeezing
  • A change in the skin such as redness or dimpling
  • An unusual pain that doesn’t go away

If you’re looking to buy anything this month (which of course you are) look for the National Breast Cancer Pink Ribbon on products as funds will be donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. We’ve picked out some great products that you can purchase that will help to fund breast cancer research and hopefully we can find a cure.
