Want to hit the beach, have fun and not get burnt without having to cover up? It must be a popular feeling because a French swimwear label has just released an affordable smart bikini that tells you when to reapply more sunscreen.

How does this work, you ask? Well, the bikini comes with a detachable ultraviolet sensor that sends an alert to the user’s smart phone or tablet when more sunscreen needs to be reapplied. The sensor is calibrated to match the user’s skin tone and how much of a tan she wants to get.
At the beach with your sweetheart? There’s a Valentine function in the sensor that sends the alert to your partner’s phone so that they know when to reapply sunscreen to the bikini clad babe.
Overexposure to ultraviolet rays is one of the biggest causes of skin cancer, especially when the skin is burnt. Many times, we don’t even know we should be reapplying sunscreen, and by the time we do, we are already burnt.
Also in the works, designs for men and children, and a smaller sensor that fits into the bikini itself. The designs for children are also said to incorporate a GPS locator to find kids who get lost on the beach.
