Between all the smudging, feathering and all the general messiness, it can be hard to achieve those crisp lines for a confident smile. Step 1:
Freshly exfoliated and moisturised lips are the key for an even and smooth, glides-on-like-magic application of lip colour. Try a DIY lip scrub using olive oil and plain ol’ sugar to remove dryness from lips, and finish off with your favourite lip balm.
Step 2:
The secret for crisp bold lips is definitely lip liner. Depending on your preference, use a lipliner in a shade similar to your natural lips or a lipliner in a shade identical to your lipstick. Start by outlining your Cupid’s bow on the upper lip and gently fill in the entirety of your lips with the pencil, using feather-light strokes.
Step 3:
Now for the fun part – applying your lipstick! Using a small lip brush or clean ring finger to apply the lip colour is the key to minimising mess. Apply thin layers of lipstick, slowly building up to the colour intensity desired. This will not only minimise chances for mistakes, but creates a staining effect that means your lippie will stick around for longer.
Step 4:
Finally, for that extra defined pout, grab a concealer in a shade similar to your natural skin tone. Using a small brush, carefully outline the outer perimeter of your lips and carefully blend outwards. This will help to clean up any mistakes and makes your lips just pop!
