Wearing The Pants At The People’s Choice Awards

people's choice awards 2015 red carpet

The People’s Choice Awards for 2015 produced a great start to the red carpet year, with a strong trend of pantsuits littering the ruby rug. Monochromes were prominent and nudes and naturals common at the event held at Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre to honour our favourite movies, television shows, musicians and actors.

Some wore Gucci, some wore Balmain, some wore Armani; but they all had one thing in common – they looked great!

Celebs are loving a good jumpsuit or pantsuit at the moment – it’s all about that masculine look with a feminine feel. Portia de Rossi looked striking in a Zuhair Murad, nude and blue jumpsuit with side swept hair and nude heels, while Bella Thorne looked in control in a black, Giorgio Armani pantsuit and loose curls. Ellen Pompeo also rocked a cute, nude Elie Saab jumpsuit, looking feminine and chic, though she loses out on full points for her pants being obviously too long and covering up, what could have been amazing shoes, but we’ll never know. Monica Potter’s jumpsuit was simple, black and elegant with a gold-chain collar, which we loved and Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting’s geometric Peggy Hartanto jumpsuit showed off her fab figure and was quite unique with cropped culotte bottoms.

Kristen Bell made her first appearance on the red carpet after giving birth to her second child on December 19th last year. Glowing with hubby Dax Sheppard, she looked lovely in a bright pink Monique Lhuillier dress with a tulle skirt. Gabrielle Union also opted for a bright colour in a purple Honor halter gown with a drop necklace to accommodate the plunging neckline and Viola Davis wore a figure hugging, bright pink Escada gown with a flattering v-shaped neckline that showed off her enviable arms.

Our favourite monochrome outfit is without a doubt Katharine McPhee’s Balmain skirt and top combo. The striped skirt with the contrasting crop top worked perfectly with her sleek hair, strappy sandals and vampy lip. Olivia Munn also donned monochrome stripes in a Giambattista Valli Haute Couture outfit with black pumps and a messy up-do, while Stana Katic dressed up in a Carolina Herrera strapless gown with flower embellishments over the bodice and skirt.

Which was your favourite outfit at the 2015 People’s Choice Awards?
