There is no exciting red carpet event of the year as that of the Met Gala. Held in glamorous New York, the Met Gala means the best of the best designers draped on the best of the best celebrities all fit to a theme. This year, the theme was titled China: Through The Looking Glass, with many guests opting for traditional red and Chinese patterns.

For some, the theme was taken loosely, while others had their own interpretations of Chinese fashion. Among the glitzy and over the top outfits, it was hard to choose a clear winner, so let’s take a look at the best of the Met Gala red carpet.
Queen Bey looked incredible in Givenchy on the night. The sheer dress has sparkles in all the right places to protect her modesty, but Beyoncé was able to show off her smoking bod, minus a pesky 65 pounds, which she credits to her Vegan diet. Her high pony tail and nude heels had all eyes on the dress and all eyes on her.
Kim Kardashian also showed off her curves in a ‘naked’ Roberto Cavalli dress. Rivalling Beyoncé’s gown, Kim look less fierce and more elegant in the sheer, sparkly number which had long sleeves and an amazing feathered train.
Jennifer Lopez also came baring skin, in a red dragon Versace. Her red, sparkly gown had a rather cheeky cutout. So cheeky it skimmed her famous cheeks. No underwear was allowed in this dress and J-Lo rocked it with confidence.
Surprisingly, it was Rihanna who was all covered up at the event in a huge, yellow Guo Pei creation. The Chinese couture gown shut down the red carpet as minions spread her look across the famous Met steps. With the designer being showcased in the exhibition, there was no better choice and Rihanna was regal, elegant and on theme, making a huge statement, as usual.
Models Kendall Jenner, Karlie Kloss and Gigi Hadid all won our hearts with their looks for the night. Karlie appeared in a black Atelier Versace gown with a sheer skirt, while Gigi was in a red Diane von Furstenberg. Kendall Jenner showed a little more skin in a green, sparkly Calvin Klein collection dress, with laced up sides. While all the dresses gave almost no nod to the theme of the night, we can’t deny how fabulous they were.
Kate Hudson, Jessica Chastain and Anne Hathaway chose to shine in gold in three very different dresses, while Cara Delevingne, Sienna Miller and Diane Kruger opted for sexy jumpsuits.
There were so many amazing looks on the night that it’s hard to choose a favourite. See if you can pick one from our gallery below.
