Growing up and being from a Fijian-Indian background, the benefits of coconut oil has always been presented to me by my parents. When I was younger, my mum and grandma would every so often oil up my hair. I hated it because no other kids my age did this. Little did I know that oiling my hair up would help strengthen it, make it thick and keep it looking healthy.

Hair
Coconut oil strengthens and keeps your hair thick. I also use it to remove dandruff from my scalp. It can also double up as conditioner. Do this by rubbing coconut oil on your scalp and through your ends. Follow up by shampooing your hair and skipping conditioner. Your hair will feel and smell amazing.
Skin
As the colder weather kicks in, our skin can get dry. Coconut oil acts as a very good moisturiser with long-lasting results. A little goes a long way when using this.
Makeup remover
On the occasion that you run out of makeup remover or makeup wipes, coconut oil can come in handy. I always have this problem, and from my experience, coconut oil does an amazing job. Simply get a cotton ball and add a little oil on it. Then remove your makeup like you usually would.
Cooking
Making food using coconut oil has many health benefits. It is naturally cholesterol free and loses its flavour as it is used at a higher heat. Also, if you’re watching your intake of butter, coconut oil is great as an alternative.
