Keep eyebrows neat

Eyebrows are generally known as being the frames to your face. But what do you do if you have your brows and eyeglasses clashing for attention? Well, if your frames are thick-rimmed only lightly fill in your eyebrows, as the bold frame will already bring structure to your face. If you have thinner frames, pay close attention to the neatness of your brows and make sure they are well-defined.

Define with eyeliner

I often find that wearing glasses can drag my eyes down and draw attention away from my peepers. I love the look of an extra-thick but clean winged or cat eyeliner peeking from underneath the frames to give that extra lift that my eyes are missing. The great thing about this trick is that even the wobbliest and uneven of lines can be slightly hidden behind your frames.

To give your eyes that extra oomph and add contrast with dark-coloured glasses, white or nude eyeliner in the waterline does the trick perfectly!

No more mascara smudges!

There is nothing more bothersome then those little black dots that inevitably end up on my lenses. The trick to avoid smudging is to look for a waterproof mascara as it is more resistant to smearing and flaking. Also, look for a volumising formula rather than lengthening, as you want to avoid long eyelashes that will touch the lenses, but still provide you with gorgeous looking lashes.

Brighten and lighten

The frames around your eyes, especially ones with thicker rims, can cast a shadow that will emphasise any dark circles. Applying a highlighting concealer or a shimmery eyeshadow in the inner corner of your eyes will attract light to that area and distract from the darkness.

Concealer – less is more

Every makeup wearer with glasses knows that feeling when your frames slowly start to descend down the bridge of your nose. The constant finger-push of the glasses inevitably leaves you rubbing off your concealer from under your eyes and on the sides of your nose. To avoid makeup meltdown, use little to no concealer and foundation on areas where the glasses sit on the face, and make sure you set creamy products with powder.

Bold lips

Finally, the easiest makeup tip for glasses wearers is to tone down your face and eye makeup, and slap on a bold lip. Your glasses will distract from the fact that you aren’t wearing very much makeup, so you’re free to play around with fun lip colours instead!
