Skincare is one thing not worth skimping on; I would rather put a cheap lippie on than use a budget cleanser. This is not to say that bargain items do not work, but sometimes you really do pay for what you get.
The Spa Experience
Recently, I purchased some Ella Bache products and my high spend was justified by the fabulous Hydro-Microdermabrasion facial I had just been treated to. The Hydro-Microdermabrasion facial is the Rolls Royce of dermabrasion treatments, with purified water used to deeply cleanse and flush out pores. The treatment does not hurt, although the process is not for those seeking a relaxing experience. The experience includes a suction motion over the face with use of a diamond microdermabrasion tip. It is the perfect treatment for congested complexions, and promises to banish blackheads and other unwanted blemishes.
On leaving the salon, I felt like doing a victory dance. My skin was incredibly clean, with a healthy dose of blushed cheeks. I was also a couple of hundred dollars lighter. Such an experience needs to be repeated, so I purchased cleanser, mask and moisturiser, carefully chosen by my therapist.
Masque Me Up
It is recommended to repeat the treatment every 6 weeks. It is an expensive one, at $130, but worth every penny. At the very least, try it once; even a single treatment can reward your face with huge benefits. It you are after a more sustainable option, indulge in the Ella Bache Energising Creme Masque – at under $70, you can keep your skin in top condition from the comfort of your own home. If you are in Darwin, visit Ella Bache in Fannie Bay. The therapists here know their stuff.
