When it comes to good menswear collaborations, let’s just say that us women drew the long straw. We’re always checking out hot new collabs between labels and celebrities or designers and always looking forward to those on their way (Beyoncé and Topshop anyone?).
But for men, good collaborations are far and few in between – until now.

River Island has tapped James Long to produce a menswear line as part of their 2015 Design Forum Alumni. The collection, which will be released in February (next month!), consists of ten pieces full of kaleidoscope colours and textures including denim, leather and PVC. It’s very cool and very sports luxe – think Alexander Wang with a paintball gun. The pieces will range from £28 to £90 and will be available to Australians on the River Island website.
James won the British Fashion Council’s Fashion Forward award and the collection is created to mix and match the pieces, though all of them are unique. Expect to see bright coloured hoodies, sweats, tees and sweaters in the coming month.
Now, we know that guys don’t always take their fashion concerns too seriously, so we would definitely advise, as the caring girlfriend you are, to spare a little of your online shopping time and purchase something for your man. He thinks you’ve bought him a present and he looks awesome in this collab; it’s a win win situation.
