It’s nearly the last quarter of the year. I know, I fell off my chair too. New years are all about setting goals, but what about re-examining every 3 months instead? Setting achievable targets for each segment, is so much easier to digest than planning out the year.
Ever set a weight loss goal, like shedding 20 kg in 12 months? 5 kilos in a quarter sounds so much more manageable doesn’t it? In this piece, we will look at some nifty little tips to get the squad in top form for Christmas. All it takes is some self-reflection, careful planning and an awesome attitude.
Jot it down
For some reason, jotting down your goals make them more tangible, and thus gives more weight to your motivation to achieve. This is a perfect excuse to buy a cute new journal, if all else fails.
Set achievable goals
Be it obtaining a new job, or fitting into your LBD, make sure the goal you are setting will be achievable over the next 3 months.
Stand up and be counted
It is imperative that you track your progress. Each week, revisit your diary and make notes against each goal. You can document how you have done that week, and how you might be able to improve.
New horizons
Three months is plenty of time to take up a new hobby or class, and smash goals. Have you ever felt like learning guitar or joining Pilates? Now is the time! By Christmas you could be the next rock and roll star, or Pilate’s guru. Ok, maybe not, but it’s good to dream big.
The crux of my ramblings is to set a goal and just go for it. New Year’s resolutions fail so often because the end is not even a little bit in sight. Quarterly shake-ups are so much more do-able. And what’s that saying again? Oh yes; TIME PASSES ANYWAY.
