In Karl Lagerfeld’s words, “Keep the best, forget the rest.” I’ll stop writing now, because Karl has written it for me… Just kidding, of course, but he sums up the new Spring/Summer 2015 Haute Couture collection well.Â

Taking 6 months to make the (approximately) 300 flowers for the show, Karl Lagerfeld and his artisans have created floral motifs to match the florally embellished skirts, tops and dresses for the blooms season. Among the multiple floral designs is an incredible wedding outfit; the top, of white sequins with pastel pink and purple one throughout, with a skirt of flower embellishments in various shapes and sizes in white and soft pinks and purples. The details of this dress are just stunning.
This collection contains almost every colour possible to create a dynamo of spring colours. Two pieces appear in colours of the rainbow, while suits that are classically Chanel are in soft pink and purple, and also black and white. The Chanel suit can be considered one of the best pieces that the brand is known for, and this season, Karl has shown us the the low rise and midriff are back, with models sporting skirts that sit below the belly button and crop tops – Chanel style.
Veils sat over the faces of the beautiful models that hit the runway, with a sweep of dark eyeshadow across the lower forehead giving an air of mystery around them. Red lipstick added a striking touch to such looks. Some models were put in beanies embellished with flowers (a touch of Cara, perhaps?) while others wore hats of tulle, concealing their eyes like classic French ladies. The very feminine collection was contrasted with black, flat boots, rather than Parisian heels.
