The Chanel Métiers d’Art showing was hot competition for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, also held on December 3. Pulling away top contenders such as Cara Delevingne and Kendall Jenner, the models definitely let everyone know where their loyalties lie. Karl Lagerfeld’s latest collection showing for the iconic brand was held in Salzburg, Austria, the birthplace of Mozart.

The Métiers d’Art showing is now in its eleventh year and is a celebration of the craftsmanship of the artisans of Chanel, creating an off-season collection, which is now deemed very on season.
The 85 looks debuted by models, including Aussie Catherine McNeil, were dressed in the historical inspired collection with lots of suede and leather as well as ruffles, embroidery and hair bows for the girls.
Darker colours engrossed much of the collection with blacks, deep blues, dark green and reds being featured throughout the Pre-Fall 2015 collections, as well as a contrast of white pieces. White and ivory coats, dresses and skirts in particular were a main feature of the show, with Cara Delevingne finishing off the collection with a historical inspired off-white, mid-length dress of layered ruffles with a cinched, black waist and pussy bow.

The collection, though inspired by historical Europe with features, trim, embroidery and braiding, was given a modern twist with thigh-high laced boots, suede shorts and plenty of Chanel detailing with pearls, handbags and gloves.
One of our favourite looks from the show? Kendall Jenner’s finale outfit. The black dress with the sheer skirt and shoulders with the bows down the bodice and Chanel branded snowflake details was magnificent. Have a look at the entire collection below.
