Bruce Jenner has been an inspiration to many since he won his gold medal at the 1976 Olympics, but last week, he has become an inspiration for all transgender people everywhere.

In a heartbreaking and heartwarming interview with Diane Sawyer, Bruce revealed his true feelings in life and how he was finally able to do what he’s wanted to do all his life; become a woman.
During the interview, one of the things Bruce said he wanted to do was to wear nail polish long enough for it to chip off, and Aussie radio host Kyle Sandilands painted his nails and started the hashtag #PaintYourNailsForBruce, encouraging other men (and women) to get out there and paint their nails in support of transgender people everywhere.
The hashtag went viral across the world with celebrities getting in on the support. Richard Reid, Reece Mastin, Eric Stonestreet and Dave Hughes were among a few of the people on Instagram and Twitter supporting the cause. Both men and women got in on the trend, showing their support for the trans community and for Bruce Jenner and his incredible and emotional journey.
We often forget that fashion and beauty is such a large part of your identity and when you’re hiding your true self from others, you are wishing to express yourself through these outlets but cannot do so. We wish Bruce all the best on his journey to full self expression.
