There were no losers on the red carpet at the Academy Awards this year. In fact, everyone deserves an Oscar for the amazing gowns and no obvious blunders. While some outfits were more meh than magnificent, we were impressed with the lack of bad outfits on the red carpet.

Obviously, there were stand outs and the best dressed at the Academy Awards goes to the gorgeous Kate Hudson who looked very Hollywood glam in her pearl Versace Atelier gown. From the plunging neckline to the shoulder pad cape and the simple diamond accessories, the actress may not have won an Oscar, but she was the favourite on the red carpet. Lupita Nyong’o outdid herself yet again in her stunning light blue, custom-made Prada gown. The winner of Best Supporting Actress for ’12 Years A Slave’ has made quite a rainbow of appearances throughout the award shows she has attended.
Our own Margot Robbie went slightly gothic in her Saint Laurent dress that really made a statement from the back with a beaded bow. Lady Gaga surprised the audience by dressing elegantly in a strapless Versace gown and scarf. The ‘Applause’ singer’s body shape suited the dress very well and her hair and make up looked glamorous. Cate Blanchett never fails to look classicly beautiful, this time in a nude Armani number with silver beaded detailing. Charlize Theron wowed the crowd in a black Dior gown with a sheer fishtail and her diamond drop necklace.
‘American Hustle’ co-stars Amy Adams and Jennifer Lawrence looked sleek and stylish in strapless gowns; Gucci and Dior respectively. Sandra Bullock also chose a strapless gown; a navy blue Alexander McQueen. Jenna Dewan-Tatum proved why she belongs on Channing’s arm in a nude, feathered Reem Acra gown.
Other notable mentions were Kristin Chenoweth in a gold Roberto Cavalli strapless, Portia De Rossi in Naeem Khan, Kelly Osbourne in Badgley Mischka and Kristen Bell also in Roberto Cavalli.
