Olivier Rousteing has put on quite the show with his collection for the Balmain Autumn Winter 2016/17 collection with his usual gaggle of famous models to show off his latest collection.

The show drew the usual big name celebrities to the runway like Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid, Joan Smalls, Jourdan Dunn, Alessandra Ambrosio, Sara Sampaio, Lily Donaldson and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
While sexiness to Balmain is like sugar in your coffee – a given, this season, Rousteing is focusing on the traditional and feminine hourglass shape, which he accentuated with padded skirts, waist cinchers and leg ruffles.
There was a buzz about the show as models and best friends Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid were spotted in opposite coloured wigs. While Kendall was killing it as a blonde, we don’t think that the brunette was right for Gigi – stick to the lighter locks, girl. Similarly, Alessandra Ambrosio and Rose Huntington-Whiteley also switched hair colours for the event and let’s just say these girls know what colours look good on them off the runway.
The Balmain Autumn Winter 2016/17 collection ranges in colour from pastels to khakis and black – full of diversity for the modern gal. Feminine ruffles help to add an hour glass silhouette to slimmer hips, while belted garments pull in the waist a la Kim Kardashian.
The collection also featured quite a few vertical striped patterned dresses and a blazer and pants combo. Metallics, bustiers and a bit of fur round out the diverse collection full of feminine mystique and sex appeal.
We love the interesting silhouettes of the oversized coats and the vertical stripes for elongation of the legs. The colour scheme is also fabulous for winter, injecting lavenders, marshmallow pinks and baby blues into the chilly wardrobe of mainly darker colours.
We’ve picked out some of our favourite looks from the 60 that appeared on the runway of the Balmain Autumn Winter 2016/17 show – which is your favourite?
