West Australian couturier ae’lkemi opened the annual Telstra Perth Fashion Festival last night to an audience of high profile industry tastemakers.

Alvin Fernadez, founder and creative director of ae’lkemi, designed exclusive looks for TPFF, including a plush ostrich feather coat, sheer silk dresses with hand sewn seed pearl detailing and french lace gowns:
“It has been a sleepless few weeks but it was absolutely worth it. I feel incredibly honoured to be opening the festival, and to share tonight with amazing talents like Michael Cinco.”
On the same evening, Fernandez was inducted into the Asian Couture Federation, which the legendary Japanese designer Kenzo Takada is an honorary president of. President Mr Cintamani said, “As an invited member of the federation, ae’lkemi pieces embody the most quintessential elements of couture.”
