Victoria’s Secret will look a little different this year with two of their Angels parting ways with the lingerie giant. Two of the most famous angels, Doutzen Kroes and Karlie Kloss, have hung up their wings and will be moving on to other projects.

While the two have left for differing reasons, rumours are rife about the company, the Angel salary and its demanding schedule, but Victoria’s Secret has remained cool on the issue, giving praise to both amazing ladies.
Doutzen Kroes, who has been an Angel for the passed 7 years has scored a ‘lucrative’ European project that would conflict with the dedication she would have to give to Victoria’s Secret, which requires 50 days per year devoted to the brand, causing conflicts with other work.
Victoria’s Secret chief of marketing Ed Razek commented on her departure: “She had a great business opportunity, and I wanted to be fair to someone I adore and respect. I honestly believe Doutzen is one of the most stunningly beautiful people in the world. And I always will.”
Karlie Kloss was an Angel in 2013 and 2014, is ditching the bras for the books by going to study at New York University, something she has always wanted to do. While she will still be in campaigns for L’Oreal and Kate Spade New York, the model is choosing to focus on her education, though she is not opposed to walking in the show, just without those special wings.
Mr Razek also commented on Karlie’s withdrawal with, “Reluctantly, we agreed she would leave the brand at the end of her contract. Karlie is one of a kind, a very close friend, someone I truly admire and love. She is, without question, one of the best models ever. Karlie Kloss will always be an Angel to me.”
Five time Angel Lindsay Ellingson was on the catwalk last year, but without her coveted wings. In her place was Elsa Hosk, and now two new spots have opened up and the speculations have started about who will be pulling on the wings this year. Ellingson’s makeup brand, Wander Beauty, will be launching in April this year, so will the model and newlywed be sticking around or moving onto other things?
