How To Use Your Leftover Easter Eggs

what to do with leftover easter eggs

It’s now been over a week since Easter, but I’m sure many of us still have left over chocolate that we’re slowly but surely consuming. While chocolate never gets boring, we might be getting a little sick of eating little eggs or breaking pieces off chocolate bunnies, why not use your Easter chocolate for a good cause, like say, baking!

What could be better than using your Easter chocolate to bake! We’ve compiled a list of the best things to bake with your leftover Easter eggs.

Easter Egg Muffins

This one works best with eggs with a filling like caramel eggs or crème eggs. Simply make your usual muffin or cupcake recipe and fill the patty pan 1/3 of the way with batter. Unwrap the egg and pop it in there before covering it with batter to fill up the pan. Devour when freshly baked so the chocolate egg is melted and gooey, or heat up in the microwave before eating if allowed to cool. So something a little decadent, use a chocolate muffin mix with a strawberry egg.

Cookies

Chop up your chocolate eggs and put them into your cookie dough. You save money on chocolate chips and can have heaps of different flavours in there if you have a bag of mixed eggs.

Chocolate-covered anything

Melt down your Easter chocolate and use it for chocolate covered strawberries, bananas or mangoes. You could also drizzle the chocolate over plain biscuits, or really just eat the melted chocolate out of the bowl – yum!
