The turtleneck has definitely been that one item of clothing that has been labeled as horrific and if you were wearing it, you would often referred to that aunt of yours who rocks clothing of the same sort. Not anymore.

Step back everybody. The turtleneck is back and here to stay, with the likes of celebs jumping on the bandwagon to bring this 70’s trend back, it is no surprise that it has now become one of the “staples” that every woman now needs. Also, lets just take a second to appreciate the versatility of the turtleneck.

Layer em’ up

Clothing that can be layered is a huge yes to both autumn and winter. The now trusted turtleneck can be worn under your favourite coat, over a plain long sleeve for added warmth or on its own. Whatever suits you. And hey, you won’t need to wear a scarf all autumn and winter. That’s a double yes from me for effortless styling.

Okay so this is what I am loving right now about turtlenecks. They come in cropped lengths. Talk about amazing. You can easily pair this amazing creation on top of a midi skirt or a pair of denim jeans. It also looks super chic because you have that blank space of skin showing which is always flattering and adds an element of surprise to your style. You can also style them with statement necklaces to dress your look up.

Who said it can only be worn in winter?

Why would I want to wear something that is like a scarf around my neck in the summer? Said nobody ever. Okay okay, so you probably are thinking about why you would want to wear it in the heat, but hear me out. The idea that turtlenecks are only meant for winter is irrelevant here. You can absolutely rock a turtleneck anytime of the year now because they are available in varied sleeve lengths. Take the example of Miranda Kerr. Need we say anything more?
