Liquid lipsticks were a massive trend in 2015. It seems like every brand came out with their own take on the liquid lipstick – even drugstore brands took a crack at it.

If you’re not too sure what a liquid lipstick is, it’s exactly as it sounds; it’s a lipstick in liquid form. They’re very easy to apply due to their liquid formulation, similar to a lip lacquer or a super pigmented lip gloss. Liquid lipsticks are praised so much because they’re supposed to have amazing staying power on your lips due to their matte finish.

Because there are so many brands and colour to choose from, I’ve narrowed down some of the most popular ones.

The best quality for the cheapest price, NYX have a range of Soft Matte Lip Creams and similar Liquid Suede Cream Lipsticks. They don’t have as much staying power as something with a larger price, but they get the job done nicely.

Beauty gurus around the world went bananas when Anastasia Beverly Hills released her line of Liquid Lipsticks. They’re a little on the pricier side of things, but are amazing quality. Some of her most popular shades are Pure Hollywood, Heathers, and Sad Girl.

Kat Von D released an amazing liquid lipstick range called the Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks. They’re super long wearing and have an amazing formulation. Her most popular shades are Lolita, and Bow ‘N’ Arrow.

Sephora has its own brand of liquid lipsticks that also get raved about called the Cream Lip Stain. These liquid lipsticks are very comfortable to wear on the lips because of their mousey texture and are long wearing. Some popular colours are Blackberry Sorbet, Marvellous Mauve, and Always Red.

Lastly we have the Australian brand Australis who came out with their Velourlips. These are some pretty good products for the price you get. They can be a little drying but definitely last all night long.
