The David Jones Autumn Winter 2015 runway show kicked off with a bang last week, quite literally, with drummers boys giving a beat down before Jessica Gomes appeared on the grey, brick runway in a white, 70’s-inspired Carla Zampatti ensemble with flares and a fur vest.

The Elizabeth Street store was turned into an underground experience for guests such as Megan Gale, Jessica Tovey and Jesinta Campbell and her huge diamond ring. Guests sat level and very close to the fashion experience that included the recurring sports luxe trend as well as 70’s inspired pieces and all white everything.
Behind Gomes for the opener, models dresses in all white lined the runway. Besides the fur pieces, there was a notable shortage of anything remotely warm for the ladies on this season’s runway, with silky dresses, thigh high splits and short sleeves dominating the runway. Not that we mind of course, wearing these gorgeous pieces makes feeling a bit chilly feel like a lovely spring day.
There were blues, gold and yellow on the runway, leopard prints and black and white, a lovely mixture for the coming season of everything we like. The collection included both patterns and block colours and two beautiful deep red dresses that we need to get our hands on stat; a Michael Lo Sordo slip gown and a structured Carla Zampatti dress, two standouts on the runway.
We’re very much looking forward to the Autumn Winter season at David Jones and judging by their show, it’s going to be a great one. View the collection below.
