It’s been a hugely celebratory New York Fashion week, with many designers celebrating long (and relatively short) years in the industry.
Diane von Furstenberg is no different, celebrating 40 years of her iconic wrap dress in her Spring 2016 Ready To Wear collection that set hearts on fire at New York Fashion Week.
Tapping the talents of the hottest models in the world right now, DVF was able to put together a highly memorable show with details that have been frothed over by fashion junkies around the world. Karlie Kloss, Kendall Jenner, Lily Aldridge, Irina Shayk, Jourdan Dunn and sisters Gigi and Bella Hadid were given feminine waves and a splash of coloured makeup and lovely, dewy skin to walk down the runway.
The newest DVF collection has a distinctly laid back feel to is. With plenty of floaty, sheer chiffon and a mix of fun colours, white and funky patterns that likened to that of a previous decade. Carrying on from the wrap dress, jackets and playsuits were added to the list of cinched in waists, while maxi dresses will definitely be back for spring next year.
With splashes of pink and yellow amongst the pastels, whites and muted dark blue, the collection is fun and flirty. Gold pieces are littered throughout, while gold accents are featured on many items, such as the embroidered gold butterflies on the skirting of the black maxi dresses. Gold jewellery was also worn by models to complement their looks.
