Chanel Cruise Cuba 2017

Chanel Cruise Cuba Collection 2017

Karl Lagerfeld has made history yet again by bringing Chanel to Cuba for his 2017 Cruise collection. With the embargo between the US and Cuba lifted only recently, the country is still stuck in its 1950’s state, making it the only appropriate background for the Chanel Cruise Cuba collection – obviously.

Guests were chauffeured in brightly coloured, old convertibles, which were actually the print on some items of the collection. The show was held at Paseo de Prado, the dividing line between old and new Havana. And the collection, well it was all inspired by the beautiful and cultural country of Cuba.

Our favourite piece of the Chanel Cruise Cuba collection? The ‘Viva Coco Libre’ vintage slogan tee that was paired with casual looks and the classic Chanel suit, reimagined.

Besides the classic silhouettes and typical flattering Chanel neutrals, the collection included bright and blaring prints, to match of the vintage cars that line the streets with a bold, vintage twist.

We also love the pastel yellows and blues in the collection, reflecting the beachy environment that Cuba is and channelling the ocean, which is perfect for a Cruise collection.
