Canoeing Through Caves On Thailand’s ‘Hong Island’

Hong Island, Thailand, Phuket

Thailand is infamous for it’s lavish nightlife, bustling cities and of course, an abundance of coconuts and islands.

Hong Island, Phuket, ThailandMost Thailand travel enthusiasts have heard of the iconic Phi Phi Islands and James Bond. But what about the smaller islands off the coast of Phuket?

Surrounded by lush greenery and limestone cliff edges, Hong Island is a hotspot for cave adventurers. Tour groups such as Amazing Canoeing take you on a day trip to several islands – with canoeing through caves on Hong Island being the highlight.

After visiting Hong Island, this particular tour takes you to Panyee Island, a fishing village for a traditional thai lunch (included in the admission fee). Then you’re off to the famous James Bond Island and Khao Ping Kan for exploring and photo opportunities.

Finishing up the long day at Naka Island, you’ll spend the rest of your afternoon relaxing on white sand and swimming in crystal clear waters.

MORE: How To Save On Holiday Bookings

TIP 1: Don’t book tours online, or first in best dressed! Do some local research around the city you’re staying in. You will be offered a far better price than what you initially see.

TIP 2: Make sure your national park fee is included in the initial price. Some tour groups don’t include it. So after paying a hefty amount, the moment you arrive they demand more money for you to be able to take a step off the boat onto some of the islands. It’s always best to ask the travel company before booking.

Phuket All Tours includes the national park fee, which is the tour group I booked with at Holiday Inn Resort’s tour desk.
