Best Dressed At The MTV Movie Awards

The blue carpet of the MTV Movie Awards was a mixed bag of stunning mini dresses, awkward netting and bedazzled bras. As the weather heats up in LA so do the outfits, with dresses getting shorter and shorter and strappy sandals creeping back on celebrity feet as they strut in front of the cameras.

We’re giving best dressed to sexy mama Jennifer Lopez, who showed the young’uns how to rock a Versace mini-suit in a dark skirt and jacket combo with oodles of perfect cleavage from her plunging neckline. Her neat hair, gold detailing and accessories and bronzed glow had all eyes on her as she struck a sultry pose on the blue carpet.

Among the younger, less experienced red carpet girls, Bella Thorne donned an age appropriate electric blue Peter Pilotto mini dress and matching heels, which made a lovely complement to her fiery hair. The psychedelic swirls were fun and bright; very lighted hearted for the event. Victoria Justice sat on sparkles for awards show in a black, pink and white Versace mini dress with quirky zig zag cut outs.

Models turned actresses Cara Delevingne and Emily Ratajkowski made a statement on the blue carpet. Cara looked like she’d walked right off the runway in a deep purple Reem Acra mini dress with drapery that seems inspired by the Elizabethan era, while Emily was a little more daring in a Fausto Puglisi mini dress which seemed to have half missing. The lime green design featured an embellished bra on one side and showed off what originally captured everyone’s attention in that Blurred Lines vid.

Capturing cameras for the bright colours was Charli XCX’s green, plaid trench with sky high boots, while Scarlett Johannson was a slick of hot pink in a jumpsuit and blue clutch. Brittany Snow also chose pink as her killer colour in a colour-blocked Brandon Sun dress. Anna Camp also added a bit of colour with her Peter Pilotto dress, while Amy Schumer was in a streamlined, monochrome Balmain dress for the ceremony.

Those outfits were all well and cute, but there were some others that had us a little puzzled. Shailene Woodley clashed patterns with funky high waisted leggings and a striped top paired with flat ankle boots, but it was a little too much for us. Amber Rose showed off her curved in a half silver, half white dress, but we would’ve preferred it without the slick of metallic. Hailee Steinfeld’s outfit was  all over the place from the sheer, ruffled top, to the fishnet skirt and the lace up heels. We’re not sure what she was going for but all we can say is no.
