We have all had that fluttery butterfly feeling of nervousness at some point. An important meeting or presentation at work can give the best of us an upset stomach. What happens when these feelings become a constant in your life? When the sheer thought of getting up in the morning causes panic it is time to seek help.

Anxiety is becoming an epidemic. Although it often goes hand in hand with depression, it sometimes acts alone. A seemingly grounded and content person can become crippled with anxiety and it has a knock on effect in every corner of their lives. The first step in fighting the battle against anxiety is to talk to someone. Often voicing your fears is half the battle and it is amazing how sharing a problem reduces the stress you are carrying. If your anxiety is particularly bad, there are several routes that you can take. Consulting your GP is definitely a good starting point.

You can look into holistic options such as meditation, cognitive therapy or even hypnotherapy. Counselling might be an option while some people may choose to go down the chemical route of antidepressants. Whatever you decide to do, remember that you should not suffer in silence. Anxiety can be cured and there is a litany of options out there.
