As much as we may deny it, mothers always know best and when they give us advice they only have our best interests at heart. So next time they throw out that word jumble you weren’t really listening to catch yourself and ask them to repeat it, they’ve been there before and trust me they know all the do’s and dont’s.

Don’t walk around barefoot
Cracked feet are a nightmare, the whole dry and rough skin that starts splitting at the seams is not pretty and at this time of year ugly feet is not what you want. My mum used to go so far as saying running around barefoot gives you warts; thankfully that one was an exaggeration. But if you are a sucker for running free and ignoring dear old mums advice, your local pharmacy will sell the perfect creams and potions to sort out that dry feet syndrome.
Orange is not the new tan
Okay, admittedly she didn’t word it like that but our mums have a great eye for what we know all to well as oompa loompa syndrome. An orange, streaky tan is no attractive and does not look natural, we all know it, but only some of us are brave enough to say it. Oompa Loompa’s are meant for Willy Wonka, not the beach.
Always always dry in between your toes
Not drying in between your toes can lead to split skin and bleeding and gets pretty uncomfortable when you start wriggling your toes or walking. If you are guilty of rushing your dry off after the shower this little problem will clear up once you get back on track and start drying away.
Dental hygiene is no joke
Brushing our teeth before bed may seem like a chore, but like most household duties it’s a must! We need to brush, floss, and rinse at least twice a day to banish away that foul breath or unwanted cavities. It’s actually surprising how many people get slack with their teeth, especially considering how much we rely on them. Mums habit of brushing before bed is a good one to hold onto.
A plastered face hides your true beauty
A lot of teenagers first discovering the art of makeup fall into the trap of more is better, but mums always know that less are in fact more. 20 inches of foundation with excessive blush and lipstick makes you look like a clown. It’s incredibly how far a little mascara and lip gloss goes.
