3 Of The Best Summer Hairstyles

It’s the middle of summer here in Australia and things are starting to heat up! Bearing the heat can be a bit of a heavy task for some, especially when your hair gets in the way and sticks to the back of your neck (it can get sweaty and gross – ew!).

If you want to tame those luscious locks and keep them out of the way while still looking chic and fabulous, I’ve got some fab hairstyles for you.

The High Pony3 Summer Hairstyles

A classic look all year ‘round. The high-ponytail is super simple and can be pulled off by all hair lengths and types. For this particular look, messy/wavy hair is best suited for that ‘effortless’ look.

Start off with wavy hair. Tease the roots to give your hair some volume and lightly hairspray. Pull your hair back into a high ponytail, a bit higher than the crown of your head. Gently pull forward the top of your hair for extra volume and hairspray again. For an even messier look, pull out some streaks of hair around your face and ears.

If you want to hide the hair tie, take a small strand of hair from the ponytail and wrap it around the band. Secure it with a bobby pin.

The Messy Bun

Another popular hairstyle, also known as the top knot. This one is suitable for both straight and wavy hair.

Pull all your hair up high on your head, as if you were about to tie it into a ponytail. Before you actually secure it into place, start twisting it around into a twist. Wrap the twist around into a bun, then secure it in place with a hair tie. It might need some extra volume to get that messy effect, so you can start playing with the bun and pulling out pieces of hair. Secure it in place with some bobby pins, use some hairspray, and the hairstyle is complete.

A pretty hairstyle that looks more complicated than it actually is. It works best with medium to long hair and works great to keep your hair out of the way!

Part your hair down the middle and have equal lengths on both sides. Do two loose plaits on each side and secure them with clear hair ties. Loosen the plaits even more for a messy look. Take each plait and wrap them around your head like a headband. Secure them in place with some bobby pins.
