This heavenly oasis may only be a six-hour flight from Sydney but it’s world away from the hustle, bustle and deafening white noise of Australia’s most cosmopolitan city. The ever-evolving hotspot has always been a destination close to the hearts of many Australians, and has often been dubbed our home-away-from-home. But new Bali is carving out its own identity – particularly in the fashion stakes.
The past five years has seen several Australian designers making the trip (or, in some cases, the move) to design and manufacture their lines in Bali (which also often culminates in opening boutiques as well). Designers such as Ebony Eagles from Ebony Eve, Jessie White from Shakuhachi, Natasha Welsh from Natasha, Georgia Hall from State of Georgia and Alice McCall have all based themselves there at some point and it’s clear the island culture has influenced their beautiful designs.
When in town, be sure to also check out the local flavour at C Boutique for some incredible swimwear, SKS for eclectic clothing and jewellery and Magali Pascali for stunning dresses.
The spectacular shopping only further compliments the beautiful hotels, stunning spas, gorgeous tropical climate and amazing food. So, what are you waiting for? It’s Bali or bust!
