The GQ Men of the Year Awards were held last Wednesday night (we just have to assume our invites got lost in the mail), and the sexy soiree was the perfect opportunity to congratulate not only the very worthy male winners, but most importantly, to crown the GQ Woman of the Year: Cheyenne Tozzi.

Following in the footsteps of fellow model Jessica Hart (2013), Bella Heathcote (2012) and Rachel Taylor (2011), it’s no surprise that the hard working, down to earth model was bestowed the accolade. Tozzi is the ultimate slashie. The singer/model/presenter has had a whirlwind year, mentoring on the Australian version of The Face (and somehow managing to stay on Naomi Campbell’s good side), joining the judging panel of Australia’s Next Top Model, AND recording her debut solo album.

You might also recognise her from her Witchery, Wanted Shoes, Mambo Goddess or 30 Days of Fashion and Beauty campaigns. Or it could be the Cosmopolitan, Vogue or Harper’s Bazaar magazine covers that you are familiar with. Did we mention that before she was a solo artist, she had successfully recorded and toured with her band Van Hoorn? No wonder this multi-tasking, risk taking beauty was the perfect candidate for Woman of the Year – she has got it all going on.

Even more admiring is her ambassador role for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation, which has seen her involved in the White Shirt campaign that raises funds in the hope of finding an early detection test for the disease. Not bad for a girl born and raised in Cronulla, who has proved that her outer beauty is matched by her inner strength, passion and humility.

In case you thought we’d forgotten, there were some other equally deserving and inspiring winners on the night, and when an event can bring together and celebrate the hottest Australian talent going around, well, it would be rude not to include some of the finer details (read: attractive men in suits).
